Michelle Obama Proving to Hold Big Influence in Fashion World
Recent reports have shown that First Lady Michelle Obama has quite an impact on sales for the fashion labels she wears during public appearances. Studies have shown that when Michelle wears a certain label, the stocks for that company will raise quickly. And the location at which Michelle chooses to wear a certain store or label’s clothing is apparently not important, although when she went to Europe last year, reports show that the companies she represented with her wardrobe at that time gained about an average of 16 percent raise in sales. Also according to reports, with her public appearances numbering over 180, the total value of those appearances was estimated at almost $3 billion.
Michelle Obama has been seen wearing many different labels, including The Gap, Dillards and J. Crew. According to experts, this is part of the reason why her fashion sense has such a financial impact. Michelle is not particular to just one label, and as studies have shown, consumers tend to enjoy the fact that they know she truly does enjoy the clothes she wears as opposed to those who are paid to show off labels. An interesting fact about the stores and labels being bought after First Lady Michelle Obama wears them is that when the consumers go into the stores, they generally don’t buy exactly what she wore, but usually end up leaving the store with something else they found. There are very few celebrities that generate the impact that Michelle has on the fashion industry, and gain, experts.
