Designers Try To Convince Men That Pink Is Their Color

Rugged men and sophisticated gentlemen have slowly been coming around when it comes to adding color to their wardrobes. A few years back a handful of audacious rappers started a movement that included pink clothing and accessories. Most guys laughed it off, thinking that wearing pink and purple clothing was a way for these entertainers to get attention, but now fashion designers are dead serious about the neon pink trend for men. Pairing pink blazers, shoes and pants with jet black attire, designers have been sending out the most handsome male models in the world on the runways to stunned audiences.

Most men keep the only the drabbest colored clothing and accessories in their closets, and they have been endlessly complaining about their limited selection. It appears that fashion designers have heard their pleas, but some male consumers will not be quick to pick up the trend. While wearing a pale pink striped dress shirt to work will get you compliments, having the gumption to show up at your office in a pair of electric pink dress pants may get you sent home earlier. Although the fashion world is all about taking risks, corporate America is not yet ready to update their dress code. In your spare time you can pick up a bright pink t-shirt and feel confident in your wears, but for now you might want to avoid becoming the latest victim of office gossip. A little pink will warm up your wardrobe, but remember to dress appropriately for the occasion.

Men’s Outerwear Finally Gets The Attention It Deserves

Although designers have finally started to create clothing that the average man will want to wear everyday, outerwear is still as bland as it was 20 years ago. Men have few choices when it comes to winter coats and jackets. The standard trench coat is usually reserved for businessmen and professionals while rebels usually go straight for leather jackets. The average guy is left to decide between the overstuffed parka and the tracksuit. For the very first time in fashion history several designers have created entire collections devoted to men’s outer wear. Don’t expect any miracles to take place because all of these pieces come in basic shades of black, blue and gray, but you can expect to have many more style options when you to go shop for a new winter coat this year.

Dior Homme has debuted a line that would be appropriate for the Amish, but then again it seems like men today are going back to their roots. His line of rugged and simplistic men’s outerwear also includes hats and shoes that will make the average guy feel like he is ready to walk on the runway even if he is just going out to run some errands. Although most men aren’t looking to impress their friends with their new coats, they certainly wouldn’t mind turning a few heads. It might take awhile for men to realize that these new style options are even available, but as soon as they do you can expect them to through out their old outerwear in unison.

The Hottest Colors This Winter – There Are None

It seems like every season fashion designers go out of their way to dress their models in warm colors and plenty of layers to show shoppers that dressing in the winter months can be fun. This year, it appears that they are taking a more minimal approach. If you have been wondering where all of the bright colors are this season you won’t be able to find many of them at your favorite designer’s flagship store. Having a wardrobe dripping with black and white is in style for the first time in history. That’s right, designers have almost totally excluded color from their winter collections and it will probably be another few months before you are going to be able to get a dress in something other than slate gray.

Some fashionistas will be thrilled when they learn that chalky pastels and cool shades of purple have been totally excluded this season. Of course, you should still feel free to incorporate a bit of color in your wardrobe, but don’t be surprised if those in the know start to look at you like you’re crazy. This may just be another style trend, but who knows what fashion designers are thinking these days. As long as you have a couple of key pieces that are monotone in color you will be able to step out and feel confident about your choice. If you simply refuse to wear black, white or gray just make sure that you have a really big winter coat in a dark color that will camouflage the rest of your outfit.

Executives Befuddled Over How To Dress For The Office Amid Snowstorms

You might think the business professionals have been more concerned with getting their cars cleaned off and driveways cleared with enough time to spare before heading to the office, but executives on the East coast are having a hard time getting their wardrobes together. Since the day after Christmas 2010, the East coast has been slammed with snowstorms that have left roadways blocked and the bottoms of pants damp. An occasional snowstorm often brings about more lax dress codes at the office, but driven executives are not keen on the idea of wearing durable jeans in place of power suits.

The fact of the matter is that inclement weather often effects the way that we dress. It is easy to get away with and often understandable if you show up to your place of business in a plaid shirt the day after a blizzard, but many offices are far less forgiving. If you spend a lot of money on your clothes the last thing that you would want to do is get your designer shoes crusted over in industrial salts.

Some professionals have chosen to pack their clothes with them and travel to the office in less desirable wears, but they still risk being seen before they get a chance to change. Style experts have recommended that business professionals take to wearing high winter boots and long trench coats in order to protect their wardrobe from the elements. This plan is not totally foolproof but it certainly beats wearing sweats to the office.

Uggs Show Skeptics That Trends Can Stick Around

Ever since Ugg boots first showed up on the fashion scene, experts have been predicting the day that their popularity would begin to diminish. The truly remarkable thing about Uggs is that dedicated fans have found a way to pair them with tank tops and short shorts. Uggs are made by an Australian company, and they are coincidentally made from sheepskin. Described as the ultimate mixture of leisure and comfort, Uggs were first marketed towards adult women but now children and men alike are taking part in this fashion trend.

For over 5 years, Uggs have been on the feet of celebrities and teenage girls. You either love them or hate them, but time has shown that Uggs aren’t going anywhere. They have inspired counterfeiters to invest in a knockoff variety of the stylish boots which are typically sold for approximately $200. From jeans to evening wear, if you pay attention to the way that people dress you have likely seen a comical outfit or two that featured Ugg boots.

While Uggs are as popular as effort there are some that are not exactly wild about the trend. Some of the original owners of Ugg boots have since moved on and criticize those that were late to catch on. Others have been aware of the trend for years, but they refuse to get sucked in. The most popular variety of Uggs are light tan in color, feature a slouchy design and come up to about mid-calf. If you plan to purchase of Uggs you can safely do so because this trend is likely to be around for a long time.

Purse Snatchings Are Up But You Can Fight Back

Every woman’s worst nightmare is having her purse ripped out of her hands by a conniving criminal. Experts say that you should never take off after a thief, so what you should do is make it more difficult for your bag to be stolen in the first place. Due to the lagging economy, purse snatching and muggings are at record highs. If you can keep a firm grasp on your precious belongings you will make yourself a less likely target.

If you can help it, avoid carrying a clutch bag when you go out on the street. Of course, women love dainty clutches because they are elegant, sophisticated and go perfectly with evening gowns. One way to get around this problem is to look for women’s shoulder bags that are large enough to store your clutch in. You may not feel especially glamorous when you go to a party or banquet holding a large shoulder bag, however, you will be able to put your bag into the coat room and emerge with a beautiful purse that matches your outfit perfectly.

Many people think that they are less of a risk during the day. Although many purse snatching happen at night, about an equal amount happen during the day. Walking through a large crowd is actually more dangerous than walking alone when it comes to being mugged. If someone were to take off with your purse you would have a hard time know took it or what direction the thief took off in. This is why carrying a larger bag that you can secure on your shoulders is such a deterrent. If a thief thinks that stealing your purse will require a considerable effort, he will likely leave you alone and go to off to find easier prey. Go to www.very.co.uk/ to find some of the trendiest shoulder bags available so that you can safely walk without fear of becoming a victim.
